Karen and I are huge fans of artichokes. My grandmother left me with a breaded artichoke recipe, but I altered the recipe to a much more simple "summer-clean" version without breading. Artichokes are like eating crabs-you get very little for all the hard work. I don't recommend these for a first date or a red lipstick night, but otherwise, have fun with these tough yet tender lil' guys.
